Vulcanology Concentration Field Studies: Includes field excursions to the sites of 3 of the largest eruptions in natural history, including Toba, Tambora, Krakatau, as well as Mount Merapi and the settlements of Borobudur and Dieng, whose evacuation is theorized by some to be as the result of a Merapi eruption. The famously scenic mount Bromo will also be visited, as will numerous reefs whose biodiversity is believed to stem from the volcanic activity in the area. Seismic observation posts will be visited as well. Last but not least, the renowned Mount Rinjani Trekking tour will also be included. This concentration will also cost $5,000 for one entire semester, all inclusive.
